Adventure Diver

The Adventure Diver course is a subset of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course. Students who have wanted to try digital underwater photography, fish identification or dry suit diving will take part in many scuba adventures during this program. Students who complete three Adventure dives will earn the Adventure Diver certification. It is a great opportunity for students to work with the instructor to build scuba skills and to gain more confidence.

Students who have a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver certification and are at least 10 years old, may enroll in the Adventure Diver course. Young divers may only participate in certain Adventure dives — check with the PADI Instructor.

DETAILS

Academic

Students may choose diving adventures they are most interested to learn.

Students who need to work on buoyancy skills should try the Peak Performance Buoyancy  dive.

Students who want to know more about what is down below—underwater—may try the PADI AWARE – Fish Identification or Underwater Naturalist dives.

Students will plan a path with the instructor and go over needed information to know more and to dive in quickly.

Equipment

Beyond using basic scuba equipment, students will learn to use special gear depending on the chosen Adventure Diver topic. When a path is determined, we can assess the required equipment, making additional gear suggestions, such as a dive light for night diving or a lift bag for search and recovery diving.

Check with me about the gear you will use during this course, and get advice about everything needed to dive into a new adventure.

To talk with our PADI Course Director, contact Michael Casey by calling (267) 257-9782.

Get credit. Each Adventure Diver class may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course. Students who have already taken a specialty diver course should ask the instructor if credit has been earned for an Adventure dive.

Getting Started

Register for Advanced Open Water Diver Online—PADI E Learning option. Students learn about seven of the most popular Adventure dives at their own pace through an easy-to-use, interactive program. Students also have access to an online version of the Adventures in Diving manual and can complete sections for other Adventure dives as directed by the PADI Instructor.

Students may also choose a traditional method by reading the Adventures in Diving manual and by completing the corresponding knowledge reviews.
